Yanlong Gu is a Professor of Excellence at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include green organic synthesis with acid-base catalysis, tandem reactions and environmentally benign solvents like ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents and bio-based solvent systems. Yanlong Gu received his B.Sc. degree in 1999 from Inner Mongolia University, and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science in 2005. He then started his journey as a post-doc researcher in the group of Prof. Shu Kobayashi, The University of Tokyo, Japan (one year), and in the group of Prof. Francois Jerome, The University of Poitiers, France. Since October 2008, he is a professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. Yanlong Gu has published more than 150 papers in peer review journals, and 6 book chapters. His group is also closely collaborating with chemical industry in developing new processes for the synthesis of fine chemicals. In addition, Yanlong Gu’s group is also very international, and has many collaborations with the professors in France, Italy and Iran. Yanlong Gu has organized, as a chairman or co-chairman, some international conferences on green chemistry and sustainable catalysis. |
