Liu Hongmei is a professor of bioinorganic chemistry at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China. Her main research areas are:

(1) The biological functions of selenium and selenoproteins in the initiation and progression of vascular disease;

(2) The synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials and biological application. She has published more than 20 papers in the leading scholarly journals in Bioinorganic Chemistry and one book “Selenium: Its Chemistry, Biochemistry and Application in Life Science”.
