From October 9th to 12th, the 17th National Photochem Symposium was held in Wuhan, Hubei. It was co-sponsored by the Photochemistry Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and held by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (HUST) and Key Laboratory of Material Chemistry for Energy Conversion and Storage (MOE). More than 500 scholars, experts and students from more than 70 universities and research institutes around China attended this symposium.
With the theme of "Frontiers in Photochemistry and Future Technology", the conference built a platform for academic discussion and exchanges for scholars, experts, and students in the field of photochemistry and related research across the country. With 39 theme reports, 48 invited reports, 90 oral reports and 116 posters in different parallel sessions, it discussed cutting-edge issues and future trends in photochemistry and related research fields, paid attention to the opportunities and challenges of photochemistry and related research in the new era, and showed the latest achievements and progress in the field of photochemistry in China.
The conference covered molecular photochemistry, supramolecular photochemistry, material photochemistry, biophotochemistry, environmental and atmospheric photochemistry, theoretical photochemistry, spectroscopy, photosensitive chemistry and other interdisciplinary frontiers related to photochemistry, photophysics, and photobiology, involving solar energy conversion and photochemistry. Synthesis, photocatalysis, luminescent materials, fluorescent probes and bioimaging, light-responsive materials and devices, photodiagnostic and therapeutic reagents and methods, photoprocessing technology, etc.
The National Photochem Symposium is the most authoritative symposium in the photochem field, with the highest academic level and the most participants. The first symposium was held in 1980 in Beijing and has been held 16 times since then. The 17th National Photochem Symposium is sponsored by Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
