Recently, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Ningbo Zhengguang Resin Co., Ltd. signed a contract to establish the “Joint Research and Development Center of Advanced Polymer Functional Materials”. A grand opening ceremony was held in our school on October 15th. Li Jianghua, Director of the Local Government & Industry Research Alliances Office of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jiang Hongyang, Secretary of CPC Committee of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Zhu Qijun, Vice Dean, Professor Tan Bien, Director of “Joint Research and Development Center of Advanced Polymer Functional Materials”, Zheng Jun, Executive Deputy of Wuhan New Energy Research Institute Dean, Shen Jianhua, Chairman of Zhejiang Zhengguang Industrial Co., Ltd., and Xiu Huimin, Manager of Technology Application Department, attended the ceremony.

The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Vice Dean Zhu Qijun. Shen Jianhua, Li Jianghua, and Jiang Hongyang delivered speeches successively. Shen said that the steady development of Zhengguang Industrial Co., Ltd. in the past 50 years is inseparable from technological innovation, and this school-enterprise cooperation is of great significance to the development of the next 50 years. Li pointed out that strengthening school-enterprise cooperation is conducive to creating a win-win situation that provides innovative blood for enterprises, promoting the transformation of results for schools, and creating a practical platform for students. Jiang emphasized that the combination of the school’s profound research background and the company’s rich production experience has far-reaching significance for achieving the transformation of results for the development of China.

Then, Shen Jianhua, Li Jianghua, Jiang Hongyang, and Tan Bien jointly unveiled the joint R&D center.

After the unveiling ceremony, the Joint R&D Center held the first technical exchange meeting, conducted in-depth discussions on research directions, operating mechanisms, and personnel training, and drafted a preliminary development plan. It is hoped that Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Zhengguang Group will take the establishment of the joint R&D center as a starting point to jointly promote the R&D and industrialization of advanced polymer functional materials based on ion exchange resins, so as to achieve a win-win situation for schools and enterprises, develop together, serve the country and benefit the society.
