Weiming Yuan is currently the Professor of Organic Chemistry at School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Huazhong University of Science & Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. at East China Normal University with Prof. Shengming Ma. After postdoctoral studies with Prof. K. J. Szabó at Stockholm University and Prof. M. Oestreich at TU-Berlin, he joined Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) and began his independent research career since 2018. His research interests mainly focus on photoredox chemistry; transition metal catalysis; and asymmetric synthesis. Dr. Yuan has authored (co-authored) over 20 publications in the peer-reviewed journals.
